VERY RARE and HIGHLY DESIRABLE 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer CST Highlander!
Documented true CST Highlander. The build sheet/Service Parts Identification(SPID)tag is in tact in the glove box. It lists the VIN# and all the factory installed options General Motors installed from the factory on the Blazer.
This highly optioned Blazer has the very rare Highlander trim option, (black carpet, black top of dash, black dash pad, black steering column and steering wheel; Parchment/white rear close out panels, door panels, sun visors, center console and seat upholstery; front and rear seats have Highlander plaid orange black and white inserts) as well as many of GM's most highly desired options.
Those options are the Red Orange or "Hugger Orange" exterior, 350ci V8 engine, manual throttle, automatic transmission, 3.73 gear ratio, power steering, power front disc brakes, skid plate, factory tinted glass, front Sport Bucket seats with center console and rear seat, white in color single wall removable top with two dome lamps, deluxe instrument cluster gauge package with tachometer, four seasons Air Conditioning, the Cheyenne/CST trim option and the custom trim combination Highlander package.
Very original, two owner Blazer has its correct front bucket seats, correct seat belt retaining center console, correct rear bench seat, all of its correct seat belts front and rear. The original uncut dash has an aftermarket radio but does come with the original AM radio. Well preserved Blazer has 64000 original miles! The 90 year old, 2nd owner purchased it in 1985 and only drove it on hunting trips. By his estimation he last took it hunting in 2000. So it has zero miles put on it in the last 18 years!
We were able to get it to run by installing a new battery, draining the gas tank, adding new fuel and it fired right up! Since getting it to run, we have installed a new fuel pump fuel lines, fuel filter, points and condenser, distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires and A/C Delco spark plugs. Oil and filter have been changed. Engine fires up with the key and doesn't smoke. Four wheel drive Hi and Low work as they should. Front manual hubs work as should.
Blazer will need typical rust repair to both doors, the tub area just behind the doors, the outer rockers and the torque boxes(see pictures)Frame is rust free. Windshield frame and firewall are rust free. Radiator core support and both front fenders are rust free(see pictures)The front of the rear cargo area is rust free(see pictures) the middle section of the cargo area is rust free, both rear wheel houses are rust free (see pictures),
We have removed the original carpet but have retained the original carpet tag. Under the original carpet is the correct carpet leveling mats, front and rear. Floors will need very little rust repair on both the driver and passenger floor areas(see pictures). the cargo area in front of the tailgate will need a small patch on the driver's side and the passer side will need repair(see pictures).
