It was restored by a gentleman who was an engineer with Polaris/Harley Davison and Sikorsky Helicopters. You can only imagine the level of quality and attention to detail that transferred from his expert career into this numbers matching show ready Chevelle. All the original drivetrain and cosmetics were either rebuilt or replaced with N.O.S. Parts. The engine is a 396ci / 325hp V8 that is bored .30 over and completely rebuilt to factory specs. The Powerglide automatic transmission is original date code correct and was completely gone through to GM's specs as well. The 12 - bolt rear end is correct as well. The drivetrain has approximately 600 miles since the restoration was completed in July of 2018. The original Harrison radiator has a fresh record at the same time. This car is factory equipped with power steering and power brakes. All the original sheet metal and trim are laser straight. The original color Marina blue paint looks amazing as well as the chrome and stainless steel on this car. The glass is all crystal clear and lines up perfectly. The interior is as nice as the day GM assembled it. This 138 SS Convertible is as close to an original as assembled specimen you will find.
