1967 Chevrolet Camaro Description:

1967 Camaro SS/RS, not a clone. Original matching number 350 ci engine. A rare car as it is equipped with factory installed and functioning cruise control. One of only 305 so equipped out of 220,906 Camaro's made in 1967. Car also has factory air, power brakes and steering. The A/C actually does blow very cold unlike some old cars that purport to this one really does. It should, every part is new and converted to R134. Also factory installed tilt wheel and rear window defogger and rear speaker. Comes with original factory AM radio however I had it professionally modified to play FM as well with no visible modifications. This car also has the 3:07 rear end gears, one of only about 500 cars so equipped as well as the optional fold down rear seat. It's the original 12 bolt rear end and is equipped also with the late production single square traction bar.The story is that this car was bought by a salesman who wanted highway gearing, and the cruise control for long distance driving. Car was sold new from Rogers Chevrolet in Rantoul Illinois in 1967. Rogers is no longer in business but I had the pleasure of speaking with the salesman who sold the car originally. He remembered the car vividly because the dealer had never seen a SS/RS with cruise control. One modification was done to the car years ago and I left it installed. A 3 speed turbo 350 transmission replaces the original 2 speed power glide. But you can't tell except in the way it drives, which of course is much better. This car just completed a three year, every nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. The color combination is not what I would have ordered but it's original and shines like a Christmas ornament. Some people think this might have been what Chevrolet called a promotional car based on this color combination and the rare options. Not sure. Every single gauge and instrument works correctly. Mileage is what is shown on the odometer but has no doubt rolled over since it was built. The car was built on the last day of 1967 Camaro production and the VIN is within 200 of the last car built. Same car as listed next week. Received several nice offers and should have accepted the best one but didn't. Relisting this week at no reserve so high bidder wins it.
