Indentations in seat are temporary and are from the seat belt buckle pressing on seat when it was folded down, and are not imperfections. Tailgate opens two ways (barn door style or truck tailgate style) and is operated by a push button located on the inner edge, and from outside the car. I assume when tailgate was customized, this feature was configured and the cabin switch was disconnected.
