Description:

1963 Chevrolet C-10

Here is a 1963 1/2 ton short bed fleet side pickup. This truck is mechanically sound it has a GM performance 350 small block crate motor from Summit racin, 4 barrel car, HEI ignition headers, new exhaust when engine was installed . It has an under drive pulley system with a serpentine belt . When the engine was replaced all of the hoses, plug wires, radiator ect were also replaced. The odometer does not work but I would estimate that there is less than 8000 miles on this engine . It has a 700R4 automatic trans with a floor shifter that was proffesionally rebuilt at the time of the motor replacement. The rear end has also been rebuilt with an Eaton posi along with the driveshaft by a very reputable local shop . The front and rear suspension has been re-built along with boxing in the rear trailing arms for better strength, new springs front and rear. It has power steering and front disc brakes with a vacuum booster. The rear tires were replaced last summer and the fronts were replaced just a few weeks ago they are all the same tire so they match front to rear. I rebuilt the heater box so the heat and defrost does wor, you have to flip the lever on the box the cable for that is not there . I do have a bunch of receipts for the parts and the work I paid to have done on this truck. This is a very reliable truck runs great always starts right up and goes down the highway with no issues. There is no need to look under the hood unless it is time for an oil change which I have done very regularly since the engine was replaced. The body is not great but that was fine with me as I have been using the truck for hauling motorcycle, going to swap meets and camping . No need to worry about any fancy paint job . It is pretty solid but the cab will need some repair if you are concerned about that . I did want to replace the windshield as it is original and not very good at night . The windshield is also leaking when driving in a downpour but does not seem so bad if it is parked in the drive way when it pours rain. I do have 2 new door skins that will come with the truck as the driver door was crudely repaired at some time in the past but once again it did not bother me. The hood and fenders are solid along with the bed sides . I put the wood in the bed because it just had some sheet metal and that has served me well. The tailgate has a rust hole but is all original and I liked it that way. The frame is very solid and was repaired correctly in the back half . It has a nice frame mounted hitch with wiring for towing . I have driven this truck on the turnpike towing a trailer to go to swap meets that are 3 plus hours away on several different occasions with no issues. I do have 2 extra rims and 1 good tire if you want to have a spare .My reserve is less then what I have put into this truck just the engine and rear end were over 4000.00Please ask questions and look at the pictures . If you are local it would be fine to look at the truck in person and take it for a drive.
