When it was purchased (August 2004), it was treated to a rebuild on the motor and a refresh of the body. The interior is original except for one small piece of vinyl that had a tear in it.
Notice that there is one picture of it, in its original form, the day it was purchased.

Engine compartment, underside and trunk area have been repainted as well. It was not a "body off" restoration. It was not stripped of every nut bolt and screw.
Dad is looking to thin his collection and unfortunately this is on his list. This car is a lot of fun to drive and gets a lot of comments. Most people comment on how they never thought a Corvair could look this good.
