Description:

1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS / Split Bumper

You are looking at one of the finest examples of a Low Mileage, Numbers Matching,1973 Camaro, Z/28, Rally Sport, 4 Speed with Air Conditioning, this is the first-year A/C was available on the Z/28. It was a pain staking restoration that took almost 2000 hours to complete. Every component that was removed was de-burred and powder coated with pharmaceutical grade powder coating from the rear license plate door to the front bumper brackets and everything in between. Example; Complete sub frame and all suspension components, complete rear axle with suspension components, from brake hub to brake hub, engine components and all miscellaneous brackets, pulleys and hardware.

All new factory GM body bushing were installed. New Moog front suspension components, Upper & lower “A” Arm Bushings, Upper & Lower Ball Joint, Inner & Outer Tie Rod Ends, PittmanArm & Idler Arm were all replaced and the steering box resealed & detailed to like new condition. Edlebrock Performance IAS shocks and all new sway bar bushings were used to complete the under carriage.

The original engine was completely gone over, Balanced and Blue Printed, .030 over board, with Roller Cam, Roller Rockers, Manley Stainless Steel valves with new springs and retainers, new pistons & rings. The original L82 Crank with a Fluid Damp harmonic balancer & Original Rods were used with all new bearings, freeze out plugs, gaskets and seals. The original block, cylinder heads with their original stamping and date codes are all verifiable.

The original transmission was completely gone over with a Hurst Completion Plus shifter to guarantee its smoothness and reliability. The originalaxle while it was being powder coatedwas also completely gone over with new bearings and seals. Both items are date code correct and completes the drive train which this vehicle was born with. A new Center Force clutch, pressure plate and flywheel & throw out bearing were also added.

Exhaust system is completely new with Headman headers and a Magna Flow 2.5” polished stainless steel X pipe system was installed.

You make ask yourself why so many parts were replaced, when I re-did the car I wanted to make sure it would out last myself and I am so analwhen it comes to things like that I wanted to make sure I can get in the car and drive it to where ever I felt like driving it to. I think nothing of getting in it and driving 500 miles to go to a Camaro National event and know I will get there problem free and it gets almost 20 miles per gallon ton the highway to boot. Just as a note, the last two Camaro National's I went to my car took First in Class, Scoring a 197 outof a possble 200 and was awarded Best Camaro by Chevy's Peter Kosak, Line Director for the Chevy Camaro.
