the Corvette had two airfoils and the team had them ignorantly set them both at about 45 degrees negative angle of attack. All symmetrical airfoils stall and just produce drag at over 13 to 15 degrees negative angle of attack. So using the threaded rods attached to them I set them both front and rear at about 11 to 12 degrees negative angle of attack so they wouldn't stall even as the suspension would travel up and down. The next two passes made by the Corvette put the car in the record books and the driver in the 200 mile per hour club. A couple of the crew came to our pit to thank me and the Brit that was putting the whole project together gave me his card and accompanying "If you are ever in England look me up BS.”
