1973 Chevrolet C-30 Super Cheyenne Camper Special 3+3 Big Block
Selling my truck,Built in Fremont California and spent its entire life in the Sacramento Valley area. Keep in mind it is a 46 year old truck that is mostly original and not exactly perfect but a good example of a survivor. It was built in late 1972 and first sold 1973. One of the first factorycrew cab GM trucks unlike the older GM 4 door trucks modified by a conversion company. For the last 8 years it was used to tow a 2 horse trailer and a aluminum fishing boat. Do not know any history before that. Really straight truck besides a small dent in tailgate and on the bottom of the driver door and front bumper. Most of the trim is good, drivers side bed trim does have help from body screws holding it in place so it doesn'trattle and vibrate. The paint is aged and sun burnt over the years but i still looks great. There are areas with rust holes but no cancer rotting rust, floor boards are solid. The worst of the rust is passenger side fender on the bottom from dirt and moisture sitting between the sheet metal walls. I can have it professionallyrepaired with a patch panel and color match to the rest of the fender at your request. But the rust never bothered me because the truck still looks great and gets plenty of thumbs up and people do ask if its for sale. It wasn'tat the moment so here is your chance to own it!Mechanically the motor and transmission are strong and healthy, powered by a big block 454 That was replaced by a crate motor about 5 years ago. Edelbrock intake/Carburetor and headers to help the motor breathe better. Truck sounds great with flow-mastersbut not obnoxiouslyloud. Left side exhaust does have a exhaust leak that i will try to fix before you receiveit.The transmission is a TH400 that shifts smooth and strong.Interior is complete and original. Original carpet has wear on it, front seat stitching came apart and i installed a seat cover to preserve it longer and the seat cover is way more comfortable becauseon the original vinylseat i would slide around on. I do have a matching seat cover for the rear. Dash does have a crack in center. Windows are manual and crank with ease. The heater works great, the truck did come with AC originally but the AC pump is gone now. I would just drive around with the window down. Power steering and power brakes work great .Overall its a great truck to drive how it is or build it to your standards. Truck cruises comfortably at 65mph. I am unsure of the true mileage because the odometer stopped working at 20,xxx so i assume its 120,000+.
