1988 Chevrolet Corvette 35th Anniversary - This Corvette is an incredibly low mileage example with only 47 miles from new. This anniversary edition is number 201 of 2,050 produced and is still in the factory plastic wrappings. It even has both clear and black painted removable roof panels. As you can see in the photos, this car is in perfect as newcondition. The asking price is $50,000.
The first owner purchased the car new from Tom Jumper Chevrolet in Sandy Springs, Georgia on March 10th, 1988 with 28 miles. The second and current owner,Mark Pieloch, purchased the car in May of 2004 from Corvettes of Houston with only 44 original miles. All history of the car is available upon request.
For 1988, the L98 engine received a 5 horsepower gain over the previous year with the usea re-profiled camshaft design, less restrictivemufflers, and revised aluminum cylinder heads. This L98 5.7 engine has 245 horsepower and 340 ft/lbs of torque. This is paired with a Turbo-Hydra Matic four-speedautomatic transmission and 2.59 ratio rear axle. This combination is good for over 150 miles per hour.
Chevrolet celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the Corvette by creating 2,050 special editions. All were coupes, with all white exterior and interior including wheels, and black roof hoop and removal roof panel. Commemorativebadging is on the side above the gills, stitched into the white leather seats, and a center console-mounted plaque. All Anniversary Corvettes were made at the Bowling Green assembly plant.
This car is currently part of the collection at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida. It is one of over 40 Corvettes in the 280+ car collection.
