1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS396 Description:

1970 El Camino SS396. Restored / mild Restomod.Year-long restoration. This is my 3rd El Camino and finally got it right.1st was small block (wimpy and loud). 2nd was SS454 (Pass anything but a gas station.Aftermarket A/C constantly broken.)This one has the perfect combination of power, reliability and comfort. 396 / 350HP (could be original can’t find any stamped codes but does have correct casting number).Recently rebuilt, Towing / RV cam.Freshened up with new bearings and oil pump.New Starter, water pump, P/S Pump, Holley 780 Edelbrock intake. Gigantic Big Block radiator. Flow Master Exhaust.TH400 with towing shift kit. 12 bolt rear.New 15 X 8 SS wheels and BF Goodrich TAs.Spent a good portion of the day at tire shop to find the perfect tire sizes to fill the wheel wells. All new interior with hand stitched seats and AutoMeter instrument cluster (to replace crappy inaccurate factory gauges. Ask me what happened to my 454). Suspension rebuilt wih new air shocks in the back.Excellent paint and body.Base coat / Clear coat.Stripes are painted under the clear coat.Cowl Hood with functional flapper door. Body and paint are an 8.5 on a show car scale.Best of all, no patch panels (right quarter was replaced some time in the past).Very rust free car.Stripped to bare metal and coated with epoxy primer to ensure it stays that way. ALL new exterior chrome.Bumpers. Bed Trim. Tailgate trim.Door handles. All of the window trim. What you won’t notice but will appreciate is all the small parts that have been replaced or rebuilt. All new wiring harness under the hood. All the switches, fuses, bulbs and etc. rebuilt or replaced. All the irritating things that can keep you from enjoying the car. I’m sure I’m missing a lot but there is just too much to list.Mainly I just made it livable and fun to drive. It starts right up, idles smoothly, sounds GREAT without the header noise.Seriously quick.Even the seatbelts have been modernized. One latch with inertia reels like modern cars not the crappy 2 buckle belts the car came with.I was also careful not to cut it up in case the numbers do match it can be returned to completely stock.

It is an absolute blast to drive. It is almost embarrassing how many people compliment the car. Young, Old, Men, Women they all stop to say NICE Car. Hate to sell it but circumstances have changed and need to let it go. Spent a lot more than asking price. $500.00 deposit at close of sale.Remainder due within 3 days VIA certified funds.Happy to drive the vehicle for delivery for expenses. Also listed locally, reserve the right to end sale early.Feel free to email with any questions.
