1967 SS/RS Camaro Convertible. This is a highly optioned car; power top, power windows, tilt steering, deluxe interior, air conditioning, rally sport, super sport, 12 bolt posi-traction (373)multi-leaf springs.
I have owned this car since 1986. In 1989, I spent about 2,000 having a 396 BB (engine is originally from an impala) professionally rebuilt and drove the car for abouttwo years. The engine started to have a slight knock and I turned it off and storedit for the last 30 years. It has the original 2-speed Powerglidetransmission.
I have always kept it in a garage in Colorado. The floor and trunk pans are in good condition. The quarters have thetypical rust and need to be replaced along with the outer wheel well housings. In addition, the panel between the dash and windshield needs to be replaced.
Last year I was planning to begin an LS conversionand body restoration. I pulledthe engine andI scheduled a sheet metal install at the AMD installation center. The appointment withAMD is on hold because I have decided to sell the car. If I don'thave success with this auction, I will be taking the car in for restoration.
I have relisted the car because the bid for 16,700 fell through. Since it was originally listed, I have removed the chrome, windshield, and dash gauges/controls in preparation for media blasting. I would still prefer to sell the car because I will be moving in the next year.
The price is $15,000 I have had many local offers just under that price and thought could get more. I am hoping that at $15,000 I get a solid commitment soon.
