1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 Description:

Took this car in on trade for a home I was selling. Car had been restored in the early 90’s & brought up to Montana from Redding, CA sometime in the 90’s. The car was given too Bryan as a simpathy gift from being in a really bad crash from when he was in high school. The car sat in a garage for around 20yrs only being driven between 50 & 75 miles during that time. Bryan used the car as down payment on the home we sold in March 2017. When I got the car I changed the fluids, fuel filter, & a new fuel pump. I drove the car and the motor as I soon found out had the water jackets in the bottom of the block filled or welded shut. May, June, July, & August the car sat outside in the sun and needs a good wax because the paint is single stage with no clear coat.....guess thats the way of the old days! Long story short is I paid $2500 to have this motor built and put in and it took 4 months of b.s. and the motor runs good now. Motor has around 600 miles on it and needs a fresh change of oil. I spent $100 for Joe Gibbs break-in oil but its time. 1 have a case of Valvoline vr-1 20-50w I’ll throw in. It has high Zink which is needed for the motor, you dont want to run a flat tappet engine without. The restoration was done in the early 90’s like I said and it got new brakes, suspension was refreshed, all rubber seals, new upholstery, saginaw 4 sp new clutch, 77’ trans am rearend with 3.73’s posi. Body and paint. Car still has drum brakes, they are pretty new still and no power steering. Floor pans are solid and very strong, someone put a hole through on the passengers side and did a make shift repair with a Coors light can. Trunk pan is very solid, has rust around the seams were it meets the body flange. Drip rails on the bottom are not flakey or rusted and are solid. The car has been in an accident at sometime prior to restoration work as the passengers side frame between the bumper and suspension is pushed over a 1” and was never straightened. Does not effect driving as it drives very straight and it is tight still. Paint is very nice looking and looks great even up close 9.5 out of 10 there. It does need somebody who knows how to cut & buff to bring out it’s shine again in a couple places, because I let it sit out this summer. Car fires right up, idles nicely has a nice lopy cam 272 duration. Will need a pusher fan as the fan it has is in adequate. Radiator is in excellet shape and been through pressure testing. This is a excellent driver and semi-show condition car. I get more attention in this than my Red Corvette. Hands down she is Beautiful and in very nice condition. Call 406-369-two 287 my name is Joe
