Up for sale we have a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. This Chevelle has under gone a very nice frame up restoration that we are advertising as a Super Sport Clone. As many of you know documenting a true SS in '70 is not possible off the VIN. This Car however has all the badges and is a great representation of Super Sport. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. We will start off with the exterior of the Chevelle. The body is straight as you look down the sides and all the door, hood, and trunk gaps are excellent. Everything is covered in the Cortez Silver base coat clear coat that has the Black Stripes under the clear. The paint has been buffed and polished to a deep rich shine with a gorgeous finish. Along with the black stripes this '70 has the Black Vinyl top. All the chrome on this Chevelle appears to have been replaced and is like new from the bumpers to the mirrors and handles. Also, all the stainless is in like new condition and has an excellent fit. The glass in this Chevelle appears to be the factory glass with exception of the windshield and it's all very nice. To finish off the look it's sitting on a set of 15x8 SS Rallye's with a set of Firestone Wide Oval Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of the '70. On the inside it's done in the classic black color scheme that flows perfectly with the exterior. It has the front bucket seats, and all the seat covers appear to have been replaced and the padding is like new. Also, the door panels look to be new along with the carpet and seal plates. The Headliner has also been replaced and has a great fit. As you sit down you'll notice it has the center console that looks excellent and houses the Hurst Shifter. Looking at the dash you'll see that the pad and round SS gauge cluster is like new with even the clock working. You'll also notice the Vintage AC controls are in the factory location. Keeping with the traditional look it has the Super Sport Steering Wheel.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it's powered by a freshly built 454 engine that was bored .30 over and has a mild aftermarket Cam. It's set up with an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake with a dual line Holley Carb. It's dressed in the stock style breather to work with the Cowl Hood and the factory style chrome valve covers. To keep it cool it has an Aluminum Radiator. For exhaust it has Headers with Flow Master Mufflers and Dual Pipes. The 454 is mated to a Borg Warner Four Speed and a 12 Bolt Rear End. Along with the Vintage AC this Chevelle also has Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc on the front. When you look under it you'll see the sway bars have been replaced with Larger ones from UMI. Also, it has UMI boxed control arms out back. The fuel tank and lines were also replaced. The trunk pan was replaced and the driver side floors have been patched and they did an excellent job. The frame all appears rock solid.
