History:This beautiful truck is a family treasure. Purchased new by my great, great uncle, then passed on to my great uncle, who sold it to me. I have owned it for the last 15 years. This truck is ideal for anyone looking for a very original '72 or a clean slate to develop.
When I acquired the truck, it had roughly 40,000 *original* miles on it. Today, it has 130,000 on the original engine. This vehicle has been maintained by a certified Chevrolet, Goodwrench specialist. This truck remains impressively reliable.

Body and Condition:Until just recently, this vehicle has been stored in Idaho where the climate is dry and rust is uncommon. It has never been driven on salt covered roads or exposed to high humidity/ocean areas. It is gorgeous.
The exterior is in great condition but shows age. The vehicle was repainted 4 years ago, closely to the 2-tone original color scheme. That paint's clearcoat is wearing off--specifically on the tops of doors and rear rails, revealing in a few places the original paint (which is in good shape!). You can see the original paint color side-by-side in pictures of the door frame. A secondary gasoline tank had been installed and a pipe was run through the truck bed behind the driver side and a circular hole remains where it was removed, though it is painted.
Limited rust exists as expected with a truck of this age, however it is isolated with some rust just beginning to form underneath the driver side rocker panel (see pictures). Otherwise, the body including the truck bed and walls are in excellent rust-free condition as shown in pictures.
In the interior, excluding the Grant steering wheel and carpet on the floor, it is entirely original. The paint is original. The dials, AM radio, cigarette lighter, and other features remain completely functional. Original owner's manual also included. The truck has the *original* bench seat, which has some tears.
The doors have 6.5in cutouts for speakers and door panels have a hole from installing a small speaker on each side. glue residue from carpeting that fell off. The driver's side wing window's anchor is broken (the window remains water-resistant but tape is used to prevent unwanted noise/movement until a replacement is purchased.
This truck attracts a crowd, especially on the East coast where few exist in such great condition. Buyer agrees to arrange pickup and transfer of the vehicle after purchase. Title is from the state of Idaho, vehicle is located in Ithaca, NY.
A non-refundable $500 deposit via PayPal is required as a commitment of purchase within 48 hours of end of auction.
