1956 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100 Description:

Very nice 56' Chevy 3100 Shortbed Big Window

Work done - Replaced fuel pump base gaskets, installed Pertronix ignitor, Pertronix coil, distributor cap, rotor, water pump, fan belt, spark plugs and all vacuum lines. Cleaned carburetor. Degreased engine. Adjusted timing to 8 degrees BTDC. Tightened oil pan bolts. Tightened timing chain cover. Re-torqued intake manifold to 30 ft lbs.Replaced modulator vacuum hose. Tightened transmission pan, Replaced front brake shoes. Replaced front and rear brake hoses. Bled and adjusted brakes, front and rear. Serviced wheel bearings and replaced wheel seals while brake drums were off. Installed new front and rear shocks, Greased front and rear springs, kingpins, and all steering linkage. Replaced drag link from steering box to drivers side knuckle. Drained and re-filled steering box. Installed chrome grille, fabricated 4 seat belt brackets and installed seat belts with retractors. Greased U-joints in drive shaft. Installed new front brake wheel cylinders. Re-bled and re-adjusted brakes. Installed one piece side windows, window sweeps, window felt, and door seals. Installed complete American Autowire wiring harness, new turn signal buckets, new tail lights, rebuilt headlight buckets, new headlight switch, new ignition switch, new horns, new fuel sending unit, converted ammeter to voltmeter.Replaced alternator, installed aluminum radiator, re-routed trans cooler lines, installed new upper/lower radiator hoses, filled with fresh coolant, adjusted shifter linkage. Installed new rear bumper, repaired D/S mirror, installed new rearview mirror. Replaced windshield wiper motor, wiper switch, wiper blades, wiper arms, wiper tower stanchions. Installed new turn signal switch, turn signal bucket, and wiring harness. Installed battery cut off switch. Installed new horn contact kit in steering wheel. Installed new wood bed, including outside strips. Installed new filler neck with new filler neck hose kit. Installed new filler neck grommet. New tires. The paint is an older respray with some nice patina, could use a clear coat or paint job. The interior has a new bench seat. 80's Chevy rear end installed. Smooth running 350 V8 with TH350 transmission.
