1995 Caprice 1A2 Police Package Wagon

1995 Chevrolet Caprice Description:

For sale is my 1995 Chevy Caprice 1A2 Police Package wagon. This is a rare car, as GM only made approx. 846 1A2 wagons from 1991-1996 and in 1995 there were only 154 built. This car is equipped with most of the same features as the 9C1 police package including an LT1 engine and 4L60E transmission, larger front brakes, 9C1 suspension, green silicone hoses, certified instrument cluster, and N97 wheels. This car was never in police service, it and an identical car were ordered by the Stratford CT school department and was used to transport kids.

The underside is in very good shape, some scale but no holes at all. Body is good overall-NO ANTENNA OR LIGHTBAR HOLES-, some rock chips in the paint, but otherwise could just use a good buff to really stand out. Only two small rust spots at the bottom of the passenger side C pillar and the spare tire well. The rest of the car is rust free. The quarters are in very good shape, if you are familiar with these cars you will know that these are a common trouble spot.

Mechanically, the car is in very good repair. The body has approximately 239,000 miles (will go up as its my daily driver) the engine and transmission have approximately 90,000 as they were replaced before I purchased it. I have a 60 mile commute and am on top of maintenance. I recently did all new brakes including front rotors and pads, bearings, rubber lines, rear shoes and springs, and all new steel lines front to back. The original starter was replaced in January with a brand new unit. Also recently done was a fuel filter, both O2 sensors, coolant temp sensor and pigtail, as well as an HVAC blower and resistor.

That all said, the car does have a couple small mechanical needs. The oil cooler line does leak (appx 2/3 quart over an oil change) and will need to be replaced (new part is included), the transmission cooler lines also do leak at the cooler housing (These are available on ebay, or can be easily made at a hydraulic shop). Otherwise, the car needs nothing to be a fantastic car, especially for the police car enthusiast.

The interior is also in good shape, the drivers seat cover is torn but can be replaced easily, the carpet could also use a good shampoo. Otherwise, the dash is in good condition with no cracks, and the rear seats are in excellent condition. The cargo area carpet shows signs of use but is otherwise good.
