Here's the ultimate 1970 LS6 Chevelle find. Ready to go for this summer to drive or show. Fully Documented Car with original build sheet showing the LS6 option and the original dealer invoice from Fencl-Tufo Chevy! Early in the car's life the original owner was able to secure the dealer only invoice before is was destroyed and lost to time. This kind of documentation is impossibe to find. See photos. The original documents (not copies) go with the car. This is a fully restored, frame off, show quality turn- key car. Less then 1000 miles since restoration. The car was professionally restored by a GM Muscle Car Specialty Shop and is virtually correct to every nut and bolt. The car started as a mostly rust free original car with all the original drive train. It spent it's early years as street machine/race car and was not driven in rain or snow. It was built with the following factory documented options: SS Option 454 LS6 Engine 450 HP M22 4 Speed "Rock Crusher" Bucket Seats AM Radio 4:10 12 bolt Posi Rear Console Exhaust Extensions Power Steering Power Brakes The car was completely disassembled and media blasted inside and out. The minor rust was cut out and patched using custom made patches and butt welded in. The body was then epoxy primed, the underside sanded and painted body color (per customer's request). The frame was disassembled and powder coated correct 70% gloss black and re assembled with all new bushings, ball joints, steering linkage, brake lines, fuel lines and clips. The body was then assembled back on the frame with all new body mounts and bolts. The body was then completely assembled and adjusted for the best possible fit and gaps. The minimal body work was done as an assembly then 3 coats of DuPont 2K primer were applied. The car then sat for a month for proper drying time. The primer was then blocked to perfection using 120, 220, 320, 400 then wet sanded with 600 grit papers. The body was then disassembled and painted using premium Glasurit Paint System. 5 coats of Code 75 Cranberry Red base and 5 coats of clear were applied. The factory stripes are perfectly laid out and buried in the clear. The body was then wet sanded with 600,1000,1500, 2000 and 2500 grit papers. Then it was buffed with 3M compound and Polish. There is over 60 hours in the wet sanding and buffing alone. The original 454 block was painstakingly saved and sleeved to standard bore, shot peened and magnifluxed, align honed, crank turned .010, new forged pistons, resized rods, balanced and blue printed. A new melling oil pump, freeze plugs and cam bearings were also installed. The heads were completely rebuilt using new valves, springs, hardened seats and a full 3 angle valve job was performed. The cam is a stock LS6 solid lifter, flat tappet. The carburetor is the correct 750 Holley with vacuum secondaries. The exhaust is a "stock" 2 1/2" alumized with factory exhaust manifolds. The 1970 coded M22 Trans was completely rebuilt using new bearings, syncro rings and seals. The case was bead blasted. The car has a stock 11" clutch with a stock cast flywheel. The shifter is Hurst Competition Plus with the correct flat muncie handle. The differential was rebuilt with a factory 4:10 gear and Posi unit. All new bearings and seals were used. The wheels are original 14X7 Rallys powder coated the correct colors. NOS caps and correct GM trim rings are installed. The tires are correct F70 14 Firestone Wide Oval RWL. The spare is also correct The car has a new dash harness, headlight harness, engine harness, trunk harness and spring ring battery cables . The interior is Legendary brand with new lower bucket seat springs, ACI foams, door panels, quarter trim panels, ACC molded carpet, and nice original bucket seat trim. The exterior trim is a combination of original and reproduction. The bumpers is a nicely rec homed originals.
