1985 Cadillac Eldorado Description:

1985 Cadillac Eldorado. Well kept and maintained vehicle. 143,000 original miles. Car runs and drives very well. It has been in storage for the past 6 years. I pulled it out recently and put over 400 miles on it that week driving it back and forth to work, errands, etc. Mixed driving of in town and 55 mph roads nets about a 21 mpg average. Everything works on the car as it should including the AC. It did need a charge, but was converted to store bought R134a Freon years ago. It does need a re-charge every summer it seems.

The Good:

The car runs and drives very well. Truly wouldn't be concerned about driving anywhere tomorrow. The front tires are newer than the rears, but all tires are in good shape. The interior is in excellent original condition with the original floor mats. Original Bose stereo works great and has a 10 disc CD changer in the trunk. All original unmolested engine bay and the trunk is like new. The body is in very good condition overall. At 143,000 miles the engine and transmission run very well. Both are in very good original condition.

The Bad:

The original paint looks good from 10-20 feet. On closer inspection it does have some of the light spots, chipping, and cracking typical with 1980's GM greys and blues. The plastic body filler panels for the front and rear bumper are in poor condition. Replacements are available. The rear shocks need replaced. The compressor for the auto ride is in place, but the shocks are no good. The sun roof does open and close, but needs a touch of hand help the last bit of closing to seat correctly. The sunroof shade is there but sticks opening and closing, so I just leave it open.

Overall it's still a pretty good car and still looks good. Not a show piece by any means but a very nice driver. With a paint job and a little TLC it could be a very nice car.
