For sale is a beautiful 1981 Eldorado Biarritz in a red metallic color called Victorian Plum Firemist in impeccable condition! I purchased this in 2005 with about 40,000 miles on it from the accountant of the original owner. It has always been stored in a covered parking garage and, since I've owned it, in a climate-controlled garage. A true survivor car with low miles. The interior is like new with the super soft pillow-top Biarritz seats. The only interior change I made was to install a new headliner. As for the exterior, I replaced the original bumper fillers with the new kind that aren't as prone to cracking.
Since this car has the Biarritz trim package it has all kinds of features you didn't know were available in 1981 including power locks & seats, power driver's seat adjustment, outside thermometer attached to driver's mirror, digital dash, cruise control, power trunk closure, remote trunk release (inside glove box), digital climate control, OEM cassette player, and the gorgeous stainless steel roof. Like a modern car, it has electronic fuel injection (no carburetor).
This is the last year of Cadillac's big block 6.0L (368 CID) engine and it has the cylinder deactivation feature known as V8-6-4. This was the only year that feature was offered on passenger cars (limos until 1984) and there is a lot of misinformation out there from people whom have never driven one. The engine's mechanics are sound and the cylinder deactivation feature can be easily overrode to run on 8 cylinders full-time by simply pulling a plug that tells the computer when the car is in third gear. From 1982 on, Cadillac used a horrible, underpowered 4.1L aluminum block with cast iron heads that had all kinds of issues. Perhaps the best thing about this car, second to it's physical beauty, is how comfortable it is to drive. As mentioned before it has the pillow-top cushioned seats and electronic climate control. Unlike modern Cadillacs that think they need these sport-tuned suspensions so you can feel every curve (and bump and rock and pothole) this is a true luxury ride. It drives like you are floating on air.
