1976 Cadillac Eldorado Description:

The last of the truly great Cadillac Convertibles
Exterior: Factory color code 67 "Brentwood Brown" (Looks like a beautiful light Copper in the sunlight)
Interior: Buckskin
Convertible Top: Tan
Convertible Top Boot:Buckskin
Serial Number: 6L67S6Q199606
Engine: Original Cadillac 500cid Fuel-injected V-8
Mileage: 1709 (Note-The owner drove the car from his home in South Miami to Butterfly WorldPark in Pompano Beach. Therefore this car will have an additional 25-30 miles when back inhis garage.
This car was delivered new by a Cadillac dealer in Pompano Beach on August 6th, 1976to it's 1st owner .
The original Florida paper temp tag will accompany the sale along with all the Cadillac manuals..
In a full page ad on February 28th, 1976, in the Wall Street Journal, Cadillac announced they were discontinuing productionon the Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. They further announced they were building 200 additional cars to bedesignated as the Bicentennial Model and they all would be White with white leather and a white top with red, white and blue pin striping.
The 1976 convertibles were considered instant collector's items, and speculators soon drove prices sky high. Once factory production ended and dealer supply was depleted, prices jumped to two or three times the manufacturer's suggested retail price.
This is one of those special cars!

The present owner purchased this car about 6 months ago with 473 miles and paid $32,500(fully documented) He sent the car whenit arrived to his mechanic and at his suggestion, he drained the fuel tank and had it pressure cleaned internallyand replaced all of the fuel injectors and fresh hi-test gas. He also went through the brake system and installed a new master cylinder, rotors and whatever else that was necessary to make the brakes work correctly. When cars sit for long periods withoutbeing driven, certain maintenance should be done to stop problems before they happen. This work, along with the
shipping charges was an additional $4,000 which bring his investment in this car to$36,500.
Unfortunately my pal Richard has to sell this car at a loss but it will be with a clear conscience
This car, as did most Eldorado Convertibles, came with Uniroyal Tires. (see warranty book) About 1400 miles ago,the original tires were replaced with a set of modern Steel belted radials. Although they had 100% of the tread, tireswhen the age become dry and it's not safe to drive around on 41/42 year old tires.
So why would anyone want to sell a car like this after just 6 months and having driven it a total of _______miles?
The answer is simple...because the selling dealer lied about the car's condition and was careful when takingphotos not to show the problems with the car. I will go into that in detail later in the auction description
I am selling this car for my long time friend and this time everything will be revealedboth in our descriptionand in our photos. This will be a PRIVATE Sale as Richard, the owner is not a dealer. He has the free & clear titleon this car and should you wish to see the actual title, we can arrange to have it sentvia E-mail but we require a phone call to request a copy. (954) 873-6495

Condition: Positives we found1.The body looks very straight and the doors, hood and trunk have a factory fit.2.The paint looks fabulous....hard to believe it's 42 years old. I couldn't find anyover spray or grinding marks so if this car was ever painted, it was a professional beautiful job.3.The car starts up on the first time...every time and no need to pump the gas pedal...thiscar has Fuel Injection.4.The top goes up and down quickly and when the top is up, all the windows fit nicelyagainst the top...it's original, not faded and no tears, rips or loose threads. Has correct rear glass window.5. In driving the car on the Florida Turnpike today at 75mph the car performed like a truelow mileage original car should run. No vibrations, rattles or strange noises. The steering istight and the brakes are excellent. When applied hard the car stops straight with no pulling to either side.6. I had the AC on full blast (it's cold) and also drove the car in heavy traffic with nooverheating issues. The radiators used in these cars is massive.7.The exhaust system is very quiet....when idling at a red light, it's hard to hear the enginerunning.8. All of the plastic fillers (front & rear) appear to be new. As you know, Cadillac had aproblem with the plastic in these fillers and they all began to deteriorate after 8-10 years. These replacements are made from a different type of material and should last a long timeThe paint on the fillers is a good match to the rest of the car.9.The car shifts effortlessly with silky smooth gear shifting...which one would expect witha 1700 mile car.10. Charging system: Works correctly with no issues11. Tires: Excellent (as new)12. New spare and all original factory jack, etc in the trunk
When Richard bought this car it was represented on the phone as being in perfect conditionand that is simply not true
What does this car need?
The convertible boot is original but has shrunk from age. It is VERY hard to put on the car
and should be replaced. A replacement Cadillac boot is available. ($225-$250)
There is a very small plaque that should be on the trunk that says "Fuel Injection"We have found one on Ebay and ordered it and it will be installed on the car whendelivered to the new owner in person or shipped on an enclosed carrier.
There is a small imperfection (smaller than a dime) located in the top center of thetrunk.
The rear bumper shows some light pitting which is too small to show up in the photos.
The Interior: Someone during the life of this car was driving with the top down andleft the car parked in the bright Florida Summer Sun. A sudden shower must haverained on the front and back seats and then the hot Florida Sun dried up the wateron the seats. It also could have been parked to sprinklers which came on...we don't knowwhere or when this happened but it's important that we disclose this. The result are what we refer to as sun spots on the seats and theydon't appear right away and can take several years to be apparent. If you own a1971-1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, never leave it parked with the top downespecially on a hot day! If you get caught in a rainstorm, put up the top and throughlydry the interior and always use a top leather cream condition.
What can be done to improve the looks of the interior? The seats are not cut, ripped,or torn...the problem is discoloration. As we know, cows to not come in red, black, white or tan.....all leather that is used in these cars are dyed. It is not a paint, but a very special type of dye that won't come off with water. I know the owner of acompany that specializes in interiors, tops, ect. and has been in the same SouthFlorida location for more the 40 years. It a family run business and their workis top notch. He can remove the seats from the car and in a several step processdye the seats to the original Buckskin color. The door panels look excellent and sodoes the dash.
So why not just have this done now and show the car after the work has all been done?
Answer: Neither our company nor the owner have any desire to deceive anyone. We willleave the decision on the interior to the new lucky owner. If he or she want this done,we will send the car to Delray Beach on a flatbed to Dean's shop....the process takes3-5 days.....if the new owner wishes to have this done himself, we will adjust the finalprice.
