Just uncovered a beautifully preserved 1954 Cadillac 2 door coupe from a barn in California's Central Valley. I haven't even washed it yet, so the barn dust comes with it as a bonus. Appears to have been stored since the 1970's. No rust anywhere except trunk lid where the steel belts from a rotting tire sitting on the lid left its mark. I do not have any history on the car, nor do I have any paperwork. Here are some bullet points of what I know so far:
- Aparent original motor turns freely by hand, have not attempted to fire it yet. 56,000 miles on odometer.
- Couple small dings here and there, but overall very straight and very rust free
- Interior is complete, but would need to be cleaned and touched upAdditional info:
The car does roll fine, tires hold air long enough to get it on/off trailer and roll around. Emergency brake works. Again, I have not tried starting the engine, but it does turn freely by hand and all fluids look fine. I do not have any history on the car. Interior is dirty, but complete. Will need seats and panels redone, but dash is in great shape and headliner is good, again just dirty. NO RATS or other rodent damage. All wiring is fine and no nests or surprises that I've seen so far.
It's a great time capsule car. I am presenting it as I found it for someone else to have fun with. I have more pics available if you want, just let me know.
