1966 Buick Skylark GS Description:

For sale is my 1966 Buick Skylark GS with the 401 Nailhead engine (numbers matching), 2spd auto, and non-posi rear end (not sure if tranny and/or rear are numbers matching) . I've had the car for just over 2yrs and other than doing a quick tune-up, I haven't done much more than store it in our garage while I worked on my other Skylark.
Overall, the car is a good 10-footer and what looks to be a respray doesn't look too bad (you can see some over spray in various parts or on trim). The car was hit in the driver's side rear corner at one point and was fixed by a body shop (PO gave me some receipts) but the gas tank still has a dent in it.
The interior looks to be complete and serviceable but most of it is pretty worn and would need to be replaced. Same goes for the window rubber. There are buckets (covered in leather but not stock and the back seat is the original vinyl) and a console. Also, it has a tilt column. Somebody has put in an after market shaft-style radio which is dead and a Chevy ignition switch.
The trunk floor was pretty pitted with rust on the driver's side corner (see before pic) and I have since scraped off the loose scale, treated with a rust treatment, and have put on two coats of POR15 (see after pic). When doing all of this, I did find three pinholes in the worst of it (one that a 1/4 drill bit would fit through and two others a bit smaller). To be clear, the trunk is usable and fits within the overall "driver-quality" of the car.
The car starts. runs, and while it has decent power, I have seen the occasional hint of blue smoke and it feels like an engine that probably has a full 123k miles on it. The transmission works except for the switch-pitch feature and it leaks like all of these transmissions do if left sitting too long. The AC appears to be all there, but it doesn't work and I have no idea how big of a fix is required.
In sum, this is a driver-quality Skylark GS that still has some life in it and appears to be restorable. This car has no implied or expressed warranty and is for sale as-is and where-is (to be clear, the buyer is responsible for transportation). Also, the car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
