1964 Buick Skylark Base Hardtop 2-Door Description:

You are looking at our 64 Buick Skylark that we've had the last couple of years. It's in amazing condition, but I'm a bit of an extreme skeptic, so I call it show-driver condition. It was repainted in its original Marlin Blue paint color before we owned it. The clear has really nice depth to its shine and shows wonderfully. It's a very light mist blue, but appears a little dark since I took the pictures towards the end of the day. All of the chrome....and lots of it, shows really well on the car...not perfect, but really nice. This car was built in Baltimore on June 17th, 1964 as indicated by an original build-sheet found in the car. The odometer shows 48K miles that I couldn't testify as being true, but based on the overall vehicle condition, I wouldnt doubt it for a second. The older man we bought it from accidentally found it at a storage facility where the car reportedly sat for the past 26 years. He brought it home where he and his son brought the Skylark back to life. There is NO rust on this car, especially as indicated by the pics of the lower interior bottom of the doors. I'm amazed at how comfy and cushy the car rides, kinda blows me away about that too. As you can see in the pictures, the car is riding on new cushy tires and original Buick chrome rims. Also as seen in the pictures, is the nicely detailed original engine compartment. The engine is its original 300 CID 2bbl with power steering. We also replaced the heater core and heater box. I like the old style triangular shaped bottles for windshield fluid and the radiator overflow. The car runs very efficiently and smooth, probably with the help of dual exhaust and Magna Flow mufflers. As you can also see, I added a set of white-faced gauges under the dash, along with the old style Sun Super Tach II to keep an eye on things. The trunk of the car shows great and no rust issues here either. The interior is in nice original shape having new carpet, seat upholstery, NOS front seat belts, rear seat belts installed for safet, brand new door sill plates, and a nicer original steering wheel. The original steering wheel is completely cracked up and comes with the car. I just didn't want to spend the $1,200 to have it restored. The real negative of the interior is the original headliner. It has a couple of rips that may not appear in the pictures very well, but doesn't take away from its original appearance. Really hate to sell the car because we have lots of fun cruising it around, but my son chose to move onto the 55 Chevy pickup you see in the background. We also have the original Buick hubcaps as well as the original factory radio. There's a more modern radio and rear deck speakers in the car now. I very much welcome personal appearances to view and drive the car. I'm sure I'm missing some more details, so be sure to ask or even call me at 410-925-9311 (Glenn). I have plenty more pictures but the advertising rule is 24, so just ask if there's anything else you want to see. Shipping for the car is your own task, but I will be glad to assist in any way. An immediate deposit of $500 is required at the time of the sale.
