1988 BMW 3-Series 325i Description:

Selling my fun little 1988 BMW 325i convertible 5-speed in light gray on black leather. The car has the factory 3.73 limited slip differential and heated seats. I am the third owner and have had it since 2015. Everything works, including the A/C(R134a).Some upgrades and updates have been made to make it a bit sportier while retaining stock appearance and reliability. Key upgrades include 5-speed manual conversion, 17-pound fuel injectors with matching D’Sylva 91-octane engine chip, E34 M5 clutch and lightweight flywheel, Z3 quick-ratio steering rack, 15”BMW/BBS “Euroweave” wheels and Garagistic upper and lower front braces. The end result is a car that is incredibly fun to drive and reliable. Factory radio delete panel and antenna delete grommet.

Upgrades:

·Garagistic front upper strut brace and lower front end brace (2018), Garagistic cup holder

·PowerFlex control arm bushings(2018)

·Z3quick ratio steering rack (2015)

·LED instrument cluster bulbs (2018)

·MTech 1 leather steering wheel from 325is (2018)

·Garagistic urethane trans mounts

·Garagistic solid lollipop control arm bearings (extremely hard, not rec’d for street use)

This is pretty close to a hardtop convertible 325is. A sport suspension and set of sway bars would complete the package. I have too many projects, so on it goes to the next owner, who I am sure will love it.It doesn’t have a soft top. I took it out because the top material was shot, the linkage needed to be rebuilt and it weighed about 100 lbs. The hard top is much better for sound & climate and it makes a noticeable improvement to the feel of chassis rigidity, plus it has the defroster. It can be removed by one person. With the top off, the car is pretty lightweight too.

Between the chip, injectors, manual trans, light flywheel, Z3 rack, and chassis bracing, this car is an absolute hoot to drive. 3.73 LSD is the perfect ratio for it, and even with stock suspension it is great in tight turns. Cruises happily at 75 all day on the highway without turning crazy RPMs. The bracing and steering rack made the steering feel and response much sharper. The Z3 rack is so wonderfully quick compared to stock, it's what the car should have had from the factory, nicely weighted.

Hoping to find a fellow enthusiast who will appreciate it!
