1989 BMW 3-Series 325is Description:
Pleased to present for sale my 1989 325is in white with tan interior. I purchased this car about 2 years ago. The first owner bought the car new in Maryland (1989) and stayed in Maryland until 2017 when it was sold to a BMW enthusiast in Philadelphia who planned to restore it but lost interest and listed it for sale about 4 months after buying it (it just sat in his garage).
I purchased the car in 2017 and since that time have done a great deal of work to the car (which was mechanically very good when I bought it). It now looks like it came off the lot in 1989. There is still a few items left to do cosmetically, otherwise this thing is ready to be a weekend driver or a daily driver. I am selling to make room in the garage for a 911.
Have service records dating back to 1998. Clean Carfax.
Highlights of work I have done to the car:
- Complete body repair (rust, dents) and new paint job in white (original color) by Chester County Auto Body in Malvern PA (see images of the work in progress, have many more images) - very reputable shop that does very high quality work - cost over $7000!
- Chester County also re-did all 4 original basket weave rims - they are flawless and look new
- Lowered the car 1" with H&R Springs, gives the car a meaner look and handles better
- Had a good deal of preventive work/repairs made (belts, etc) by Helix Auto Sport in Philadelphia PA
- New Pioneer bluetooth streaming radio with phone capabilities (also have the original radio will be included in sale)
The following items should be noted:
- The fuel gauge bounces around, haven't gotten around to fixing
- During my ownership the odometer stopped working for about 20-40 miles. Please note I own 5 other cars and drive this on occasion to the store, around my neighborhood. Also, the painting took over 4 months to get done so the car just sat at Chester County Auto Body
- The air conditioning doesn't work (should be upgraded to R134), heat works
- The original owner swapped out the front sport seats for comfort seats, sale will include two OEM sport seats (that need recovering). Interior is in fantastic condition as is.
- Sale will also include ACCMats.com custom carpet kit in black - $350 value, haven't gotten around to installing. carpet is fine, but I wanted to change to black.
- Sale will also include 2 yards of black faux alacantra headliner, haven't gotten around to installing. headliner is fine, just wanted to amp it up with the black.
- I am driving the car so mileage may be off by a little
Any questions ask away. Have many more images and many images of the restoration.

I forgot to list the following initially:
- There is a small spider crack in middle of windshield near the top. Safe light repaired this and since that time I have had the car inspected in PA and it passed. You don't see it when driving and you have to look very close to see it. I have some images in the folder above of this.
- I was taking a video of under the car and noticed a weld was loose, I am taking to Helix Auto Sports tomorrow (march 15) to repair. You will see on a video in the folder.
- During my ownership the odometer stopped (as 80s BMWs tend to do) for about 15 miles before it was repaired. When I bought it in 2017 odometer worked fine and the Carfax and condition of the car indicated to me the miles were correct.
- At one time I had water coming into the trunk, which is common on e30's. It was repaired by Helix Auto and hasnt leaked since. The trunk has a faint mildew smell, doesn't bother me bc the trunk is in good condition. See videos and folders. Replacing trunk carpet would likely get rid of smell. Inside of car has NO smell of mildew.
