1986 BMW E28 528e Very Nice Condition

1986 BMW 5-Series Description:

This is a pretty special E28 BMW 528e. It is cosmetically clean and well sorted mechanically. It has been a West Coast car for it's whole life and is virtually 100% rust free. This car was previously owned by a mechanic and came with a list of recent repairs done. These include recent timing belt and water pump, front suspension, Bilstein struts with H&R springs (only modification), rebuilt top end, replaced transmission, brakes and brake booster, radiator and almost all coolant and vacuum hoses and more. Starts right up warm or cold, with no smoke.
The paint is all original and in great shape. Other than some light damage at the front of the hood and some missing bumper trim, the body is pretty exceptional. The interior is all original and still pretty presentable (see photos). The seats are firm with no old_BMW wobble. Most amenities function well: Ac cold, heat hot, seats, windows and sunroof all work well. The few that aren't up to snuff: rear window motors are very tired (work very slowly and left one sometime not at all), power mirrors inop, passenger seat seems to hit obstruction on rail when sliding, headrest belts off (motors work). Odo stopped at 260K. I would guess another 20K or so have been added since.
This car runs tight and straight down the road. No shimmy or wobble. Tires have about 80% tread or better. The car passed it's last smog check with no issue (April 2018). I did let the tags expire (late May) so there is probably $50-70 owed in penalty. As the car has been off the road recently, the battery is a bit tired, but it typically works fine when driven regularly. Clean CA title in hand. Comes with original owners books, which shows regular servicing through the early to mid years.
