This car is located in San Diego CA and has a numbers matching original engine. The rust looks worse than it is; outside shows some obvious rust in rear shock towers, the passenger side outer rocker panel and rear wheel well and the drivers side rocker has some rust too. It is just the outer rockers not the inner. Aside from that the frame rails, spare tire well and floor boards are pretty clean. Original Metal is inexpensive from Restoration Design for rockers and fender. I pulled the battery to charge it and the battery tray and entire engine bay is very dry and appears as if no front accident.
Windows roll up and down, doors open with no problem, trunk and hood as well. I put some fresh gas in the tank and cleaned the carburetor and it runs and drives; shifts well with a good clutch, but the exhaust pipe is removed and has not been installed so very loud. Car hasn't been on the road in many years. Sunroof doesn't roll back and e-brake does not hold.
I bought the car last month in Colorado and it took a little while to ship here. In that time the restoration of my 1973 BMW 2002tii took a turn and I now need the money for that car. I am selling for a very low price to sell quickly and so someone can do the work to get this car on the road. Comes with what you see in pictures. Car was stored properly in garage in Colorado climate.
Car comes with a clean Colorado Title in the original owners name. Very cool car; one of the best years for the BMW 2002.
