Description 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite

This 1959 Sprite recently underwent a full restoration to an extremely high level. Rebuilt 1275 cc OHV 4 cylinder engine. Alternator conversion. Spin-on full-flow oil filter. Rebuilt SU carburetors. Polished valve cover. New water pump. New radiator and hoses. Rebuilt Ribcase 4-speed manual transmission. Shifts crisply. New exhaust with header and new mufflers. New gas tank and fuel lines. New front and rear wiring harness. New radial tires wrap new correct Healey hubcaps. Front disc brake conversion including calipers and pads, all-new hard brake lines and hoses. New master cylinder to match the disc brake conversion. Spindles rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics. New front sway bar and bushings. New headlights, turn signal lights and rear brake LED conversion. New rear bumpers. All work was done by Healey experts who know what it takes to make these cars work right - and this one does.
The laser-straight body was stripped to bare metal and repainted in correct "Ocean Blue" metallic color. Polished to a deep shine. All chrome and trim was replated to show quality. New, correct interior with leather upholstery and dashboard. All new switches. Gauges rebuilt. New windshield glass and rubber gaskets. New wiper arms and water jets. New wood steering wheel. New wood shift knob. New vent hoses. New soft top with crystal clear rear window. (The top has never been lowered since installation and is as-new.) Correct new Lucite sliding side window inserts. New reproduction Lucas driving lights. New door handles and striker plates. Plus many other items too numerous to mention. Please see photos.
It has seen only limited use since completion of the restoration. I have personally driven this car and it runs, drives and handles exceptionally well. The current owner, who was formerly the British Motor Cars dealer here in Portland for over 40 years and remembers these cars when they were new, also says this one drives better than new. There is little to add. If you're looking for an exceptionally restored Bugeye Sprite for Healey Club events and tours or just a fun drive in the country, this is is a great one. A reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its quality. It could not be restored to this level for the reserve price. Please bid accordingly.
