1995.5 Audi S6 - 2.2L I5 20V Turbo (RARE!!!)

1995 Audi S6 Description:

This is the urS6 you have been looking for. A rare car to begin with, having shipped only 3,449 S4/S6’s into the USA during 1992-1996, this is the ultra-rare 1995.5 of which there were only 410. This included the better looking bumpers introduced in 1995 but also a completely different 3-spoke steering wheel, chrome accents and different placement of the cigarette lighter socket. Now with an impressive list of upgrades, some unique customizations, and having been very well maintained, this car is truly a one of a kind.

Excellent condition and well cared for Audi. I am the 3rd owner and have had the car for the past 13 years. Serviced by the same European specialty shop the entire time I have had it. In that time I have only put about 7K miles/year on it as I live only a few blocks from my work and walk most days. The car has been garaged the entire time and is in extremely good physical shape for its age. Last year it had a deep polishing from tip-to-tail and its paint shines as well as my RS4 which is a dozen years newer.

The RS2 turbo and Stage IV ECU upgrade give this car a tremendous amount of power. As with all turbos there is a slight turbo-lag but when the boost kicks in, it puts you back in your seat. Accelerates smoothly in all gears and has power to pass easily, even in 5thgear. At the same time, the 2.2L I5 engine will cruise nicely on the highway at 75mph sipping about 25 mpg. The lowered performance suspension and Quattro give it track worth handling.

Windshield is new as of 2015. Hood was professionally repainted in 2014 to eliminate all of the accumulated rock chips from the previous 19 years. The BOSE sound system is all original and still sounds as good as it ever has (audiophiles can insert opinion here). 6-Disc CD changer is in trunk but I have never used it.

So that’s the good, here is the not so good. Crack in front bumper is noticeable at close range. Discoloration of the driver’s side side-mirror (It was this way when I purchased the car 13 years ago and has remained the same). The driver’s seat heater does not function (all others do). The brake fluid reservoir sensor is malfunctioning and causes the brake warning light to flash when it vibrates. Unfortunately a new sensor can only be acquired by purchasing a whole new fluid reservoir (or if you find one at salvage). The car includes a set of 16” Audi Avus wheels but they do have some scratches and one has notable curb rash (pictures available). The engine also needs a little bit of warm up time due to the modifications and runs a little rough at start up until it does. This has been this way for the 13 years I have had the car. All-in-all not too many issues for 22 years old and has been a reliable (and fun) ride.

Hard to let this one go but now with a RS4 in the garage I can’t keep both.
