For sale is this 1979 AMC Pacer Limited Hatchback
Get the family, load the dog up and get ready to cruise across America. Some say it ranks among the world’s ugliest, others put it in the class of a new trend of car art. When it came out the words that described this space saucer were “futuristic”, “bold” and “unique”. The AMC Pacer is one of the oddities in automotive history that have become collectible and even cool.
This 1979 AMC Pacer Limited wears what looks to be original paint, interior and power train. She’s a runner, and kind of a driver. Some things will have to be attended to before any kind of real driving should take place…well at least off the farm that is. The amount of power behind this was a little more than I expected, it seemed to handle pretty good and even brake.
The interior needs things, but has a lot of great useable parts, including the original radio, which works. Carpet is ok as are the plastics. The headliner has been removed. The door panels are actually pretty nice and electrical components seem to work fine. There are cracks in the seats and a small one in the dash. Various other issues are also present and can be seen in the pictures.
This Pacer has great bones, there is little to no rust, it is a very solid car. Some of the original paint could buff up nice here and there. Looks like someone started a repair on the driver’s door for a respray and never finished the job. The body isn’t very banged up and is a great start for cool hot rod or back to original project.
