1960 AMC Rambler American Custom Description:

1960 Rambler American Custom 2 door wagon. I have owned this car for 21 years and it has been stored in a barn for 20 of those years. Car was bought from an old salvage yard in Oklahoma. Reason car was there was because it had been hit in the right front. When it was in the wreck the front windshield broke and allowed water to run in it for years rotting out the floor boards and right side door sill/rocker. I have cut out the rotted parts of the floors and pretty much the complete right rocker/door sill assembly. When it was in the wreck it pushed the unibody back on the right side. I took it to a body shop and had them pull the unibody back to factory spec to get RF door to latch properly. I have just tack welded some metal back in so it will keep shape while in transport. If you look at pics you can see where I cut the RF "frame horn" area to very loosely get the front bumper on it. I did not really care about the front end parts of the unibody because I wanted to chop it off and make a tube chassis for this car and hang the front end off of that.
I do have all the stainless on the car that is not shown and roof bows for headliner. ALL rubber on this car is junk. Windows do not roll down (looks like old rubber jammed in the track). The headlight rings are not rambler and I'm missing a parking lamp up front. Comes with spare "parts doors" and a piece cut off of another rambler for the right door sill/ rocker assembly. I do not have any floor boards. Quarters show no sign of rot, bottom of passenger door has some holes. Looks like one hole in the tail gate but still solid. Bumper will just be tied up on RF side. Suspension will need full rebuild, car does steer, brakes are in pieces and missing lots of parts. Has a over head valve inline 6 cylinder engine with an over drive on the manual transmission and will turn over with break over bar on front crank bolt. Absolutely no interior pieces in this car
Basically this is a decent shell of a car with some dents and dings here and there, needs lots of work but fixable. All I really cared about was the sheet metal and this is a good car for that. Car has zero bondo. Black paint is where I sanded some surface rust off and painted it.
Car can be delivered by me within 100 mile radius of Kansas City MO. for a fee. Otherwise you will need to arrange for transport.
Have clean and clear MO title.
